Obituary for Twila Virginia (Fletcher) Heavner

Flintstone, MD – Twila Virginia (Fletcher) Heavner, 87, of Flintstone, MD, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home surrounded by her family. 

Born April 29, 1931, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Heavner was the daughter of the late Marshall L. Fletcher, Sr., and Ada (Shipley) Fletcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: Robert L. Heavner; a daughter-in-law: Deborah (Crone) Heavner; a son-in-law: Ralph Andrew Pacelli; and a brother: James W. Fletcher. 

A graduate of Flintstone High School, Class of 1949, Twila was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife, and retired from London Fog with 32 years of service. Twila attended the Murley’s Branch United Methodist Church and the Flintstone United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, completing word searches, crossword puzzles, and watching the hummingbirds. 

Twila is survived by her children: Lee Perry Heavner, Flintstone, MD; Sharon Ann (Heavner) Llewellyn and husband, Donald, Bedford, PA; Kathy Virginia (Heavner) Bell and husband, David Marvin, Hancock, MD; Janice Marlene Pacelli, Cumberland, MD; and Keith Lynn Heavner and wife, Brenda Marie, Flintstone, MD. She also leaves behind her brother: Marshall L. Fletcher, Jr., and wife, Vianna; her sister-in-law: Martha (Barnes) Fletcher; as well as six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Flintstone United Methodist Church; or, Murley’s Branch United Methodist Church, Post Office Box #2, Flintstone, MD 21530. 

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Progressive Care Unit and the Emergency Department at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, and to the staff at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, for all the care and compassion given to Twila.
