Obituary for Williet Ann "Bitsy" Gardner

Cumberland, MD – Williet Ann “Bitsy” Gardner, 75, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, MD, due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. 

Born September 22, 1942, in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Gardner was the daughter of the late William A. Mank and Beulah Louise (Hawkins) Mank. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Carol G. Mank and Eleanor E. Biensach; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

A graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1960, Bitsy retired after 30 years with the Kelly Springfield Tire and Rubber Company, was a longtime member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, and active with the former Warrior Run Lions Club.   

Bitsy was married to the late Jack V. Gardner for 44 years.  She is survived by her children: W. Brent Davis and wife, Terry Bowers; and Brent’s son, Taylor of Bethesda, MD; and Kristen L. Cage, and her son, Jaden of Frederick, MD.  She also leaves behind her stepdaughter: Kathy I. Folus and husband, James, Baltimore, MD, and their children, Jesse G. Folus, Baltimore, MD, and Morgan Folus, Washington, DC; and her stepson: Steven K. Gardner, Frostburg, MD. 
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. 

Interment will be at a later date in Saint Luke’s Cemetery.
