Cumberland, MD – Sarah Ellen Harbaugh, 83, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at her home.
Born July 26, 1935, in Fort Ashby, WV, “Alaska,” Mrs. Harbaugh was the daughter of the late Henry Jackson Simpson and Daisy Ann (Glaze) Simpson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. Harbaugh; two brothers: Wayne and Dale Simpson: and a son-in-law: Bob Jones.
A homemaker, Sarah was a member of the Church of Saint Patrick. She was also a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #245 Ladies Auxiliary. Sarah was an avid bingo play and loved making bread and spending time at Ocean City, MD.
Sarah is survived by her sons: Ricky D. Harbaugh and wife, Susan, Cumberland, MD; Andrew E. Harbaugh and wife, Susan, Fort Ashby, WV; and Lance J. Harbaugh and wife, Joann, Cresaptown, MD; and her daughter: Mary Ann Jones, Cumberland, MD. She also leaves behind her brothers: Leonard "Ted" Simpson and wife, Linda, Short Gap, WV; and Donald "Jeep" Simpson and his wife, Sandra of Florida; as well as eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Father James Watson, O.F.M. Cap., officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all who cared for Sarah at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center and at Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
