Obituary for Orrie "Bruce" Bayliss, III

Little Orleans, MD – Orrie “Bruce” Bayliss, III, 67, of Little Orleans, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. 

Born August 14, 1951, in Washington, DC, Mr. Bayliss was the son of the late Orrie Bruce Bayliss, II, and Phyllis Jean (Hicks) Steele. 

A graduate of Washington Lee High School, Arlington, VA, Bruce enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving eight years and retired from the Federal Government as an Electronics Specialist with 25 years of service working at the Pentagon. After retirement, he worked for the NOAA for a few years.  Bruce was a member of the National Rifle Association.  He was a computer genius, a collector of many things, and an avid animal lover. 

Bruce is survived by his wife of 37 years: Mary (Peyton) Bayliss; and his daughters: Elyssa Moeller and husband, Jason; Amie Berglund and fiancé, Wally Stemple; Heather Tracey and fiancé, Jimmy Price: and Sarah Dixon and fiancé, Matt Keebaugh. He also leaves behind his sister: Ann Steele; his brother: Bobby Steele; his grandchildren: Sierra, Peyton, Donavan, Amara, Olivia, Breanna, Molly, Evie, Lilli, and Abby; his great granddaughters: Alaina and Harper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 4:00 P.M., with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. 

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Jude Tribute Program, Post Office Box #100, Dept. #142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
