Obituary for Sandra Lee Snyder

Cumberland, MD – Sandra Lee Snyder, 72, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. 

Born February 23, 1946, in Keyser, WV, Mrs. Snyder was the daughter of the late William Denver Lambert and June (Ross) Lambert. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Brandi Lee House. 

A graduate of Bruce High School, Sandy also graduated from Tri-State Beauty Academy and was a hairdresser for over three decades. Over the years, she was employed by Davidson Beauty Supply as store manager and at Don Athey Salon as both a hairdresser and office manager, as well as having her own salon.  Sandy was a proud member of the Daughters of the Nile, a Lady of the Kemp Masonic Lodge in Mount Savage, MD, the Ali Ghan Shrine Club and the Cumberland Scottish Rite.  Sandy loved her family, loved the beach, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan.  She enjoyed reading and crocheting.  Sandy was so proud of her Scottish heritage and the Ross Clan.  She has entered the gates of Heaven rejoicing with her parents and holding her precious granddaughter, Brandi. 

Sandy is survived by her husband of 48 years: Kenneth Snyder; and children: Keith Comer and wife, Christina (Mercer); Candance (Comer) House; Robert Borrows and wife, Tammy (Lewis); and Clint Snyder and wife, Ronnie Sue (Keister). She also leaves behind a brother: Gary Lambert; and her grandchildren: Brandon House and wife, Bethany; Brittany Rose and husband, David; Denver Borrows and girlfriend, Sarah Kinsinger; Morghan Snyder and fiancé, Shawn Gillespie; Shani Dimauro; Desiree Borrows and boyfriend, Wes Heavener; Carson Snyder; and Douglas Comer.  Sandy is also survived by her great grandchildren: Camden and Easton House; and Isabella June Heavener, due in September.  She also leaves behind her step grandchildren: Kimberly Brown, Andrew Brown, Corey Mellotte, Colten Mellotte, and Callie Mellotte; her step great grandson: Grayson Gaston; her niece: Mindy Lambert Green and husband, Johnny; her great nephew: Hunter Green; her great niece: Kayla Lambert; as well as numerous cousins. 

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The Daughters of the Nile will conduct a service at 6:45 P.M.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M., with Pastor Kirk McTaggart officiating.
