She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Alex Orlick; four daughters, Diane Leasure and husband, Ralph, of Edgewater, MD; Noreen Manning and husband, Mike, of Jefferson, MD; Janice Vander Decker and husband, Robert, of Hockessin, DE; Leslie Davis and husband, Grant, of Chapel Hill, NC; two sons, Chuck Orlick and wife, Debra, of Eugene, OR; Brian Orlick and wife, Marlene, of Bellingham, WA. The daughter of Irish immigrants, Mae grew up in Kearny, New Jersey. During high school and shortly thereafter she worked at New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and the Prudential Insurance Company. Mae and Charlie met on the New Jersey shore during the summer of 1945. They were married in 1950 and moved from New Jersey to the greater Cumberland area in 1951 so that Charlie could pursue a career at the Hercules Allegany Ballistics Laboratory while she chose to stay home to lovingly raise their six children.

Mae was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Cumberland, and for many years was involved with Special Ministries, which helps the needy in the Cumberland area. She was active in the LaVale Century Club for more than 30 years, participating in numerous Christmas Caravans. Mae was an avid bowler who played at The Bowler in LaVale with the ABL Women’s Bowling League and participated in a monthly bridge club. She enjoyed activities with her children including coaching softball, being a Cub Scout Den Leader, and volunteering with the PTA.

The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude to the many generous women who provided loving care and friendship to her over the past several years.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 13th at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 11 Washington Street, Cumberland.
Family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church Special Ministries, the LaVale Rescue Squad, or a charity of your choice.
