Obituary for Jean Browning Kimble

Flintstone, MD – Jean Browning Kimble, 83, of Flintstone, MD, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.

Born May 18, 1934, in Flintstone, MD, Mrs. Kimble was the daughter of the late Carl Jackson Browning and Margaret Irene (Beegle) Browning. She was also preceded in death by her sister: Jackie McCartney; her brother: James Browning; as well as a very special nephew: Kim Kimble.

Jean attended Flintstone High School and went on to graduate from Frostburg State University. She spent 38 years as a teacher before retiring in 1996.  Jean will best be remembered for teaching first grade at Flintstone Elementary School.  In her decades of teaching, she touched the lives of countless students.  Jean would regularly talk about her “kids” (as she lovingly called them) with great affection.

Jean was the cornerstone of her family. She was an incredibly strong woman with a huge, kind heart, and a feisty spirit.  Jean spent her entire life caring for her family who she loved deeply and beyond measure.  She was the best mother and grandmother anybody could ever ask for.  Besides her legacy of love and wisdom, Jean will also be fondly remembered for the great passion she had for cooking, gardening, and watching the news.  We will cherish her always and she will be in our hearts forever.

Jean is survived by her daughter: Sandy Kimble; her granddaughters: Dana and Deanna Kimble; her grandson: Damon Kimble; and her great grandchildren: Sasha and Alex Kimble. She is also survived by her sisters: Ruth Kimble and Carolyn Brouillard; and a beloved nephew: Mike Kimble.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with Reverend Fred Iser officiating.
